I had the chance recently to start 2013 off with a bang, doing a creative shoot with Brenda Neville of Neville Dance Theatre and one of her dancers pictured here, Oshi Wanigasekera. We played with several other concepts as well but my favorite from the shoot was this work with flying flour.
First we splattered Oshi so that she was covered in the ‘all purpose’, and next Brenda stood 12 feet high up on a ladder and used a sifter I’d brought to create the dust falling. I think the biggest challenge was for Oshi: she had to move with her eyes completely closed for the most part- try doing that without losing your balance/center and dealing with 2 1/2 ft long hair at the same time..!
Thanks again ladies, can’t wait to move forward with the other ideas we started to talk about!
You can see more of Neville Dance Theatre on the Company’s Facebook Page.
These are beautiful! I love the one with her hair whipping back!
This was such a fun shoot! Rachel is so amazing and able to turn any moment into a spectacular image capture. Oshi Wanigasekera’s innate beauty is captured perfectly. Gorgeous!
